Bloomsburg Splits Pair in Baseball

WASHINGTON, DC--The Bloomsburg University baseball team split a pair of games on Sunday with Columbia Union winning the opener 9-4 and dropping the nightcap, 7-4.

In game one, the Huskies' Rob Watlock (Plains/Coughlin) went 3-4 with a homer and three RBI, while Syril Kress (Littlestown/Littlestown) went 2-3 with a two-run homer to lead Bloomsburg to the victory. Dustin Johnson (Sunbury/Shikellamy) went the distance on the mound, while striking out six and allowing just four hits.

In the nightcap, Kress went 4-4 with a run scored and an RBI, while Watlock was 2-4 with three RBI, but Columbia Union scored six runs over the first three innings and went on to the victory.

Bloomsburg, 4-18, will host Susquehanna on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
